Ahhh…we finally found it!! It may not be as good as what you get in Vietnam but it is definitely worth us patronizing them again and again. Just in case if you are wondering, I’m talking about Vietnamese food.
Ever since we came back from Danang, we have somewhat became a fan of Vietnamese cuisine. We have been looking around for a good Vietnamese eatery in Singapore and upon googling, I found out that there’s actually a Little Vietnam in Joo Chiat. Not very near from our place but not too far either. Okay, there is officially no Little Vietnam in Singapore but it might very well be, considering the number of Vietnamese eateries at the area.
I searched the web and came upon numerous good reviews that pointed to this Vietnamese coffeeshop, Long Phung. So, there we went. It is pretty easy to locate the coffeeshop, it’s opposite Jing Ji Teochew Steamboat and next to a public carpark. Parking is such a breeze. Brownie points to that!
Most of the patrons are Vietnamese and sitting inside the coffeeshop made me feel like I’m in Vietnam. I was pretty sure then that the food will not disappoint. We ordered the fresh Spring Roll (Goi Cuon), beef noodle (Pho Bo) and grilled pork noodles (Bun Thit Nuong). They were all so good that we had them again on our second visit.
Vietnamese food is really scarce in Singapore and we are glad that we found this place. There are a few more Vietnamese eateries down the road waiting for us to explore. But in the meantime, we will stick to Long Phung for our Vietnamese fix.
